It wasn't my best read ever but it certainly is a fantastic book, I found it very interesting and I once read a book and the first few chapters were boring but the first few PAGES of this book made me want to read even more and more of the book.
In my eyes it is an absolutely fantastic book!!!!

It is a very good book because it is about a boy called P.K. Pinkerton who is trapped down a silver mine but it gets quite boring when it comes to the chocolate cake because it just
keeps going on and on about places.

I didn't really enjoy this book because it was quite boring. I think it had too many pages that weren't needed and also too much text. However I did quite like it when P.K Pinkerton got stuck in a silver mine, as it was tense and made you want to read the next few pages.

The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence reviewed by Ella, aged 11
It was an OK book but not the best, I have read better books. I thought the beginning and the middle was all right but the end wasn't good at all I thought it was a real let down. It kept on going on and on about the different places he moved to and kept on basically saying the same thing every time.

The best book ever!!!!!!!!!!
You have GOT to read this book,it's so good that I asked for the sequel for Christmas and that is the second best book I've ever read and it's AMAZING! I hardly put it down' I even got in trouble for reading it in bed at 11 o'clock! I got so addicted I walked into a table and really injured myself! Set in the 1900's, Pinky just can't stop walking into trouble. At a dramatic finale, Pinky reveals something astonishing; is it true?
The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence reviewed by Ellice, aged 11
This book really interested me, however at some points it felt like to me that it was a bit rude and a bit gory when his parents got scalped by Whittlin Walt. But apart from that I really enjoyed it! Another good thing is that I like the part when poker face Jace had told P.K about the feet.

The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence reviewed by Corrin, aged 10
This book is the best book I have ever read! It is about a boy, P.K Pinkerton, who finds himself trapped in the deepest shaft of a Comstock silver mine. I bet you are wondering how he got here? Well that is for me to know and you to find out! I will give you a clue though, P.K is being chased by some Desperados. Their leader(Walt) is after something from his medicine bag. All that is in there; is a letter, a knife and an old button his Pa gave to him. He left his town to get as far away from Walt and his Pards. But he got off at the worst stop he could have. One of the moments which was intense was when a young woman is hiding him. But the desperados are closing up. What will happen to young P.K?
The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence reviewed by Seth, aged 10
This book is the one of the best books I have ever read! It is about a 12 year old boy called P.K. Pinkerton(Pinky for short)who gets stuck in the deepest shaft of a silver mine. A few days before that, his foster parents(Pa Emmet and Ma Evangeline)where killed in a attack from three men his Ma was scalped and Pa with a hatchet in his chest. He had to leave the small town of Dayton and go to Virginia City but what horrors will await him there.
The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence reviewed by Frances, aged 11
I hated this book!!!!!! I just couldn't get into it, I started it hoping it would be good because all my friends liked it but it just bored and confused me. It also went into too much detail and I know people say detail is good but there was so much you couldn't figure out where you were up to!
There IS a twist at the end and when you re read the book you can see that it is cleverly woven into the beginning and middle of the book but I won't give anything away...
So don't read this book it is a waste of time.

THIS IS COOL
The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence reviewed by Chloe, aged 10
I thought the book was OK but it wasn't really my type of book. I would recommend it mostly to boys instead of girls, it is quite gruesome and more for older children I think because it had some swearing in it. I didn't really like it but some people might. Different books are liked by different people.
The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence The Case of the Deadly Desperados by Caroline Lawrence reviewed by Erin, aged 10
Thrills excitement, and guess what... more thrills and excitement has been read from this book. I truly loved this, especially the twist at the end (if you have not read the book then don't read this otherwise you'll know what the twist is at the end.) its funny because I never ought p.k pinkeron would be a girl due to the fact he acted and sounded exactly like one.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again by Frank Cottrell Boyce Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again by Frank Cottrell Boyce reviewed by Rachael, aged 10
It's not really that good because at first its really boring then it gets a bit funny then boring like the first bit I espessialy hated near the end it just follows in that pattern so I didn't really like it that much. However I think that boys would like it more than girls because its just about cars, cars, cars and cars ( in my opinion ) I would have put something that doesn't include cars cars cars cars cars and more cars! it needs to have more other types of things but i hated it so much and i just stopped reading at the 12th paragraph llike i said its just about cars cars cars cars and even more CARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but I didn't like it at all!.
Thank you for reading and I'm sorry I didn't like it, it was just boring!

It was an OK read but not one of the best books. I did expect better with such a great author it was really boring. I was really happy when my teacher gave my this book but I found it not interesting because the author hasn't used anything to build up tension. NO ELLIPSIS, NO FUNNY WORDS AND NO INTERESTING ADJECTIVES! I was not impressed with the book I thought the movie was good and I thought that Chitty Chitty Bang Bang flies again would be interesting like the movie... But No. I wouldn't recommend this book to people who like cars or are a real Chitty Chitty Bang Bang fans. I do hope that you could enjoy it.

I gave this book best read ever because it doesn't just finish once. You come up across loads of problems that never seemed to end. This book, or should I say wonder, takes you into a family each with a different personality. In the story the find out they are not what they expected.
If you like:
Dads that like being sacked,
cars,
punky but brainy girls,
jelly baby walkie-talkies,
and toys that come to life and nearly kill you
then this book is perfect!!!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a good book to read. I think it is suitable for ages 12 and below. In this book the characters are interesting and the book is really funny. The cover is eye catching with the vibrant red colour. I think Frank Cottrell Boyce and Joe Berger are very creative and I would love to read some other books by these people. I give this book a 4 star out of 5.

My favourite part of the story was the bit when the car stated to fly. This book is adventures book . Lucy is a kind of person who does not like adventures as like dad he loves adventures going in caves, going to different countries and the rest of the family like their dad expressing new stuff going on holiday and lots more adventures. I did not like this book because at the middle of the book I lost track of the first bit of the book so it got really boring. People who like adventures will like this book.

I don't reccomed reading this book if you are a boy because it is more of a girls book than a boys book because I read the first three chapters of the book and it didn't really make me want to read it any more and I got very bored before I had even read the first 10 pages so if you are a boy, don't even bother trying to read the book!
A Girl Called Dog by Nicola Davies A Girl Called Dog by Nicola Davies reviewed by Isobel, aged 10
I am not really sure about it but I reccomend it for girls but not for boys its all about a girl getting upset and bullied by her uncle and escapes for the first time ever and she gets a parrot who can speak that is very personification and then there is a coati which is soooooo cute even though you can't see it but as you read and you like it, it will come to life because it describes it very well in a short space. But it gets boring (for me) after the coati nealy dies so I got bored with it so if you like reading then I reccomend it for you. However I reccomend not to read it if you don't like adveture books (I don't) nearly at the end it turns into adventure but at the beggining it is quite sad because the uncle is really mean.

Thank you for reading all this I know its a lot but I had a pleaser reading this book.

I think this book was really good and I would recommend it to mostly girls because it is a bit of an adventure story. It is about a girl who is called Dog and she lives with her horrid Uncle who is really mean. Her best friend is a coati called Esme. A new parrot called Carlos comes to the pet shop and it can talk. It helps Dog escape and they got to the amazon together with Esme and they have a really happy life after that and live with a tribe with all the other animals too!

I really enjoyed this book and think it is a really enjoyable book and lots of people will really enjoy it!
A Girl Called Dog by Nicola Davies A Girl Called Dog by Nicola Davies reviewed by Rachael, aged 10
It was ok in my opinion, but I wouldn't read it again because who would like to read about a girl being beaten up by her Uncle and yeh she did have all of the animals to be friends with, but what I don't get is why she doesn't talk is something to be doing with her being beaten up or something. And she has to sleep on the floor. I mean like who would do that to a child and it's nice that her best friend was just a coti(Esme) and the weird parcel arrived she got another best friend was a parrot (Carlos).

It's also a good thing that they helped her find her voice and I like that they've had a long journey home.

I like the book, to be a cat because it is a good book. My favourite part so far is when Barney turns into a cat and he get's locked up in Miss Whipmire's filing cabinet. I like the front cover because it has Barney and then starts to turn into a cat. My favourite character is Rissa because she is a nice and lovely girl. I like the blurb because it is interesting.
A Girl Called Dog by Nicola Davies A Girl Called Dog by Nicola Davies reviewed by Jessica , aged 11
This story is about a girl who's never said a word and lives in a filthy pet shop. I thought this story was slightly boring at the beginning but very upsetting at the end. It was boring at the beginning because there was no action whatsoever. Even so, it was only exciting at the very very end. It taught me that not all children have a nice warm house, food on the table and clothes to wear. I rate this story 2 stars because there was not enough excitement for me. I suppose for some people the build-up was exciting for me it was just down right dreary only at the beginning and middle though. I still recommend reading this but be prepared for quite a long build-up.
A Girl Called Dog by Nicola Davies A Girl Called Dog by Nicola Davies reviewed by India, aged 11
A heartwarming story of a mute girl in tough conditions-until the mysterious package arrives.

This story kept me reading to the last page-it taught me how hard done to some children are. It made me feel overwhelmed and above when she first spoke (sorry to give it away if you haven't read it yet) it was a wonderful touching way to end. I only gave it a good read because the beginning was too low on action but it welcomed you to the characters slowly.

The book is really good I would recommend it to people who don't get emotional because it is about a girl called Dog who gets bullied by her uncle who was a mean, vicious person. He works in a pet shop but no one would ever come in to the shop because it is very old and some animals are dead. Dog has to sleep on a filthy pet bed, also Dog is a really quiet girl. How would you feel if you were Dog? She escapes at the end of the book with her pet friend.

I have gave the book *** because it is a very good book and it really made me cry you might think that is a bad thing, but the Author has really thought about the book so really read it as it makes you think!

Opal Moonbaby wasn't the best book ever and the front cover, also wasn't great. I think that either boys or girls could read this book, but it's more for girls really. I really like the book but I think it has too many mistakes and in the front cover is quite a let down. I think boys would like it so if you're a boy don't judge the book by its cover. It's all right to read like I said you may find two letters together with no spaces which is unfortunate because the book is really good. I would recommend this book to a friend and some family but I would only say it would be for children not adults. It is a good starter but it doesn't make you really want to read on.

Lissa Evans, the author and my inspiration, didn't use boring words like 'said or and because' we all know 'said is dead', and 'and is band', she used commas and words like shouted, whispered, muttered and mumbled. It didn't just get to the point there were obstacles in the way. I think that everyone should read this book even adults. This book was so interesting I thought I was actually the character.
