THE BRILLIANT WORLD OF TOM GATES !
This amazing Tom Gates book is full of funny things, I recommend this book a lot. I think it is the favourite book I have ever read. My favourite part is when Tom’s grandmother puts a banana on his pizza, and his friend asked to eat it which was horrible! My worst bit is when Tom’s sister got a very ugly boyfriend. My favourite character is Tom’s friend called Amy. And this is my amazing review.

I thought Tom Gates was a very funny book with lots of doodles telling you about all his life and how he hates school photos and his sister Delia but this is not for an advanced reader because its a very simple read with BIG words so maybe for 9+ but otherwise it was really good and you will laugh out loud!!!

The Brilliant World of Tom Gates really is brilliant! It will have tears rolling down your face from laughter! I would recommend this book to boys and girls who love to laugh! When you pick up this book you become absorbed, as you help Tom Gates through all his problems... (Even the really strange ones). I was laughing through everything, even through Tom's idea of a tragedy. Read this book today and laugh!

It was very funny. When I had read one chapter I wanted to read another. I loved all of the big doodles of caramel wafers and I also liked the band names for him and his best friend Derek. He hates Marcus and his sister so much but he loves Amy and dude 3. I think the part I liked best was when they go on the camping trip and they get totally lost. They eventually get there but at night it starts raining and their tent gets blown away so they all have to run to the car and they didn't get any sleep at all. I think this book is Recommended for 8 to 14 year old. This is a brilliant world of Tom Gates because the book is brilliant and it has won the winner of the Roald Dahl funny prize 2011.

I thought it was interesting and the characters in it, they were funny and they kept arguing.
Tom Gates was funny because he kept annoying people in his class and people and home. I think it will be suitable for people that are confident at reading and I think that year 3 will be able to read it. In the book there is a girl that sits next to Tom and she is called Amy, she always gets annoyed by Tom but one time she didn't. But Tom asked Amy if she wanted to go to the Dude 3 concert with him and his dad. She did go. One time it was parents evening and Tom's parents came and looked at his letters that he kept writing. It was fantastic!

I think it was a really good book, think it would be suitable for - in a school would be about year 3 or higher. We would recommend this book for anybody. I would tell you to buy it, you see, the year 3's would probably think it's a boring book when it has long pages but the illustrations make it less boring for younger children.

The Brilliant World of Tom Gates was EPIC!!!!!!!! The reason I think it is good is the front cover of the book has a doodle sort of appearance, although the cover is good the blurb is pathetic! I read the book in a couple of hours because I couldn't put it down. The reason for this is the book has an unusual grab factor. I have read over 100 books and this has never happened! There were no baddies as such but Tom has lots of enemies (eg: His sister delia, She doesn't deserve a capital letter!!)
I rated this book:..........29!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Brilliant World of Tom Gates by Liz Pichon The Brilliant World of Tom Gates by Liz Pichon reviewed by Joshua , aged Ten (nearly eleven)
Hello, my name is Joshua and I am writing this review about 'The Brilliant World Of Tom Gates'. I think this book is GREAT, however the blurb isn't the best. I gave this book 32 out of 35, this book would have been my best read ever but the blurb just let it down!!! If you haven't read the book yet DO NOT read this bit, my favourite bit was the part when Tom drew a REALLY detailed picture of Mrs Worthington, I laughed my head off. I would like to recommend this book to anyone who,
- loves books,
- likes winding their sister up,
- or just loves laughing!!!
I think that the front cover is really intriguing because of the doodles, thank you for reading my review,
I hope it was useful, :-)

I think that For the Record is a fair good book because it's an adventure, comedy as well as a romantic sad story. The romantic parts are mostly very sad as well as some people can be very stuck up about romantic stories. Well.... Luke is not the best fan of romance but he likes records. No he doesn't like them he LOVES them, so if you like comedy you really need to read For the Record!

I thought that the book was really boring at the beginning because it didn't 'get going' a lot at first. The book cover was very interesting, but the back was good, but it didn't have a blurb which I normally read to see whether it was a good book or not. Just shortly after the beginning I was on page 33, then in the morning I was on page 56,because the book had a lot of suspense.
In the middle of the story [around page 141] I was determined to finish the book! I didn't though [because I was tired] but I did get to page 199 and I wanted to at least get to 200 but I fell asleep.

I think this book was really hard to get into because it is set in old times so it's boring for us in modern times. Once you get to page 50 or so it gets interesting because she starts snooping around the house with Silas at night. You can also begin to read it really fast and me and my friend Ella age 10 had a race but drew. Although Ella completed her book review about two weeks before me.
I thought that the front cover could have a bit more interesting and it didn't even have a blurb so my score was a measly 2 and as for my overall score that was 26/35.

In the first 4 chapters the author drones on about what life is like and how Charity is a prisoner, and there is no action whatsoever until the sixth or seventh chapter. overall the book had a very creative storyline, so if you can deal with all I have stated then I'm sure you will like this book.

I liked the book Sky Hawk it was pretty good, but I did not have a favorite bit in the story. I think the book was a good read but it was not the best book I have had.
I found the book a bit adverseness in bits of it,
At the start I could not get into it but when you do it seems to be a good book, at some times it can get a bit boring, but it is still a good read.
I would recommend this book to any one also because it is good book, so any age.

I am half way through the book and I think it is a very, very good book, it has a very slow start and then you get into the book. When I looked at the front cover it was intriguing also the bird's eyes looked as if there were looking right through me. The quote from Michael Morpurgo dragged me into the book by the phrases he said like 'it touches your heart' and 'it opens your eyes'. when we vote on the best book I think I will vote for Sky Hawk. once again this book is the best!!!!

In some bits it was boring because it just kept talking about the scenery. I would recommend this book to about in the child age range of 9-12. It would be a great book for people who like nature and animals. I would give this book 6/10...

I think Sky Hawk was a bit slow because there wasn't much action in it but also it has some good qualities. It was an easy read and I learned that ospreys are in danger and they are nearly instinked. Also that we don't leave stuff around because they get caught in it. I would recommend this book to children aged 9 to 13.

I really like this book because it's funny, strange and violencey. Furthermore you never want to put the book down. Our class is making a fantastic book awards display. The summary is that Barney is always getting into trouble for things he didn't do. Sadly his parents had divorced and weirdly he turned into a cat! Mrs Whipmire is also a horrible , nasty headteacher.
