Raving Reviews

Review of Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh

Review by Arran, aged 12, from Westhill, Scotland.     Rating: Great.

Tell us what you thought of the story.
The story was great but some of the parts were boring.

Favourite character and why?
My favourite character was Oly golly who was Harriet's nurse who dressed, looked after her and was a friend. Oly golly stayed at Harriet's. She was very friendly all the time and that's why I liked her.

Who will the book appeal to most and why?
I think people who are aged between 10 to 15 would enjoy this book. once you are older than this the book would probably be too babyish for you. The book was also full of excitement and so it would appeal to people who like this.

Would you recommend the book and why?
It depends what they like in a book. Some people like more action but if you like strong characters and excitement then the book would appeal to you

Could any improvements be made and how?
No I don't think so I thought it was great as it was.
