Raving Reviews

Salamandastron by Brian Jacques

Lisa, aged 10, from USA.  Rating: Brilliant.

Opinion of the plot.
The plot was extremely exciting, and I kept wanting to read on so I could find out what happened.

Favourite character and why?
Tammo, because I like the hares in the stories and because he's 'perilous'.

Who will the book appeal to most and why?
This book would appeal to fantasy readers that love animals and don't mind a little violence. The books in this series have a lot of war, and animals play human roles.

Would you recommend the book and why?
I would definetely recommend this book, because it is very interesting and suspensful.

Could any improvements be made and how?
I don't think there needs to be any improvements. The book was really great.

Misty, aged 12, from Diamond Bar, USA.  Rating: Brilliant.

Opinion of the plot.
I thought the plot was great because it involved defeating an evil rat, finding a legendary sword and much, much more like defeating the evil snake Asmodeus.

Favourite character and why?
Matthias the mouse is my favorite character because he's got a lot of spunk. Not to mention he is the star of the book. He is also very brave.

Who will the book appeal to most and why?
The book will appeal to people who love to read( it's 333 pages!), love fantasies, and animals. (It's got a lot of everything).

Would you recommend the book and why?
I would recommend the book because it is very exciting.

Could any improvements be made and how?
Yes, there can be improving. How? Well a lot of animals die (tons of rats, mice, shrews, & woodland creatures) Mabey not a lot of good ones should die.
