Bath Festival of Children’s Literature
Friday 24 September- Sunday 3 October 2010

The excitement is building for the fourth annual Bath Festival of Children’s Literature, staged in association with The Telegraph and Waterstone’s booksellers. Featuring some of the best authors, illustrators and storytellers around – ranging from the Children’s Laureate Anthony Browne to world-famous choreographer and star judge Arlene Phillips to an event with Ben10!

The ten day Festival is packed full of events for all the family – highlights include award-winning graphic novel illustrator Dave McKean, bestselling Kay Woodward with her inspirational book Skate School, Fast Show star and TV comedian Charlie Higson debating the qualities of Zombies Vs Vampires, as well as no less than three of the five former Children’s Laureates: Michael Morpurgo, Anne Fine and Michael Rosen.

The festival will also be helping to celebrate seventy spectacular years of Puffin books as the hilarious Jeremy Strong hosts the Big Puffin Prize Book Quiz- guaranteed fun for all the family!

This year sees the first ever Writer-in-Residence at the Festival with Julia Green author of Breathing Underwater and Drawing with Light and Bath Spa University Course Director. Julia will be blogging about meeting authors and events on the Festival blog at www.bathkidslitfest.wordpress.com.

The Festival will also be taken out to schools in the area with writers, poets and illustrators going into the classroom as part of the Kids LitFest Takeaway programme organised by Bath Festivals Education Team.
