Current Evaluation Methods

Stories from the Web is evaluated by the children and young people who use it through online feedback forms. We read all the feedback sent in to us and make changes as a result of this. Have a look at the comments made about Stories from the Web in Feedback in the age 0-7 area, Feedback Frenzy on the age 7-11 area and in Tell Us on the age 11-14 area.

Libraries who subscribe to Stories from the Web feed in their comments via Quarterly Evaluation forms which can be submitted online. They also have access to evaluation forms to collect comments from children attending Stories from the Web sessions, and their parent and carers.

DCMS/Wolfson Public Libraries Challenge Fund 2000/2001

During the DCMS/Wolfson funded period, the impact of Stories from the Web in the twelve participating authorities was evaluated. This included the impact on library staff, the children and parent's assessment of their child’s involvement.

The Research Period

During the research period funded by the Museums, Libraries and Archives council (MLA) the impact on the children involved, their parents and the libraries was recorded and evaluated. The project monitored children’s learning patterns, staff skills and morale and the way in which libraries were perceived by users and the local media. The number of books borrowed by each child attending the Stories from the Web clubs was also monitored in order to assess how the project has impacted on their reading habits.
