Information for Schools

Stories from the Web is managed by Birmingham Libraries. The website promotes books and reading through the range of contemporary fiction and poetry extracts featured.  The site is funded by subscriptions from a range of member Library Authorities across the UK.
Stories from the Web encourages links between public libraries and schools in member authorities. Look to see if your school is in a member authority.

What next?
If your area is listed we can forge a link between your school and the named Stories from the Web contact for your Library Service.  You may be able to organise joint projects to enthuse your pupils with reading and enhance their literacy development.
If your school is not in a member area you may want to find out more about your school becoming a subscribing member of Stories from the Web and find out how the website can support your school and pupils with literacy.

All creative work received is fully moderated before being displayed in the online ‘Gallery’ areas of the site. 

Please note: The FREE service is NO LONGER available to schools. Any work received from children in schools who do not live in member area or who are not in a subscribing school will no longer be displayed.  We hope you will consider buying into the service.
