Kitty, aged 11, from Preston, New Longton, England has rated a book called (Un)arranged Marriage by Bali Rai and says:

I was not that impressed when I chose it for a reading challenge at my high school library. This was because I felt uncomfortable when I was reading because it was undeniablely racist and used a weird plot that didn't really seem to go anywhere. I think that the character that I liked the most was the dad because he had the most deepness in characteristic, especially when he got drunk. Unfortunately, I found the other characters shallow, even the main character and I am ashamed to say I could not find any will to read on so I missed about the last chapter. Up 'til then not much happened and the story line just seemed to wander. I would advise people to try this book because it gives you an insight on a differnt culture but personally it just wasn't for me.

Star rating: Two star rating for (Un)arranged Marriage

Fatimah, aged 12, from Ilford, London, England has rated a book called Raven's Gate by Anthony Horowitz and says:

Very well descripted makes sense has a nice flow and grips the reader from the first book and this is the first great book of 3 others. It's the starting point and the book aims at teens mostly boyz, but I guess once girls read it they'll be stunned!!!!!!

" It's Buffy, meets Artemis Fowl!" Wow it's wicked.

Emily, aged 12, from Wakefield, England has rated a book called The Edge chronicles by Paul Stewart and says:

I think this book is for people who live in places where not many adventures happen and you have to find them somewhere else because these are the kind of books that give you a sense of adventure. You really get to know the charecters and by the end it's like you have known them all your life. I think this book is brilliant for people who don't really like reading much because it gets you into reading. Once you start it you can't put it down!!!

Calvin, aged 12, from Broughton Astley (chatterbooks), Liecester, England has rated a book called Grubtown tales; Stinking rich and just plain stinky by Philip Ardagh and says:

Grub town tales
Stinking rich and just plain stinky

I thought grubtown tales was really good. I liked the way how the description of the characters and detail they went though to explain how they are. I liked where they found it where they were taking out the trash. When suddenly the slanderer crashed though the ceiling and broke the floor boards, then Jilly Chetter and Mango Claptrap found a massive huge diamond. I’m surprised at the end where Manual Org fell into the lake to save a beautiful young women then when he got out no one recognised him because he was so beautiful and charming and before he was ugly and repelling that he scared everybody away from him.

Star rating: Three star rating for Grubtown tales; Stinking rich and just plain stinky

Taylor, aged 11, from Scotland has rated a book called Zlata's Diary by Zlata Filipovic and says:

It's not that great really because it's just a book from like a war or something. But then again it's okay because it tells you facts and that about the war and a girl's daily life in that situation. So I'm stuck so I rated it a 3. In the middle.

Star rating: Three star rating for Zlata's Diary

Ruby, aged 14, from Telford, Shropshire, England has rated a book called Possessing Rayne by Kate Cann and says:

Here it is! As Promised, a review of Possesing Rayne!

AMAZING!

It wasn't as good as Leaving Poppy but I think that was because I had expectations because of Leaving Poppy (LP).

Possessing Rayne is completely different to LP becuase its based around a different situation. Sort of. The start is pretty similar but the rest is really deep in depth and annoyingly brilliant!

Sorry for the brief discription but seriously you should read it!

Star rating: Four star rating for Possessing Rayne

Ruby, aged 14, from Telford, Shropshire, England has rated a book called Leaving Poppy by Kate Cann and says:

I picked this book up and it was a bit of a fluke becuase i was debating between two books- Leaving Poppy and Star Girl (Star Girl isn't by Kate Cann). I picked up Leaving Poppy becuase I was freaked out by the cover and thought it made the book look really cool.

This book is absolutly fantastic! I couldn't have picked up a better book if I tried. The characters are so indepth and the description is fantiastic. The great thing about this book is that it took me a while to decide weather it was supernatural or not which made even more scary because you couldn't expect a ghost becuase it was to predicable for a ghost but you couldn't suspect a human because it was too clever. When it came out that this was a supernatural book and I got deeper into the book I realised how good it was because it gave me the chills just reading it.

I love connection with the different characters and I nearly cried when Poppy and her mother turned up at the hospital. It has one of those plots where you desperately don't want certain things to happen to the character and when it did happen I was generally angry and upset but I didn't put the book down because it was so unbelievably brilliant.

Read this book and if you get scared just carry on reading it because it's well worth it. I'm going to read Possessing Rayne next- will post reveiw soon!

Star rating: Five star rating for Leaving Poppy

Geena, aged 12, from West, London, England has rated a book called The Angel Collector by Bali Rai and says:

This book is very weird, it has alot of swearing and I'm sorry but it keeps on waffling on about how he needs to find her and stuff, I find this book quite racist when he says "you're polluting our people". I find it freaky about the severed heads in the fridges, I only really got excited when the killer was talking or when it was the chapters near the end.

Star rating: Three star rating for The Angel Collector
